With a vision to support the ecosystem of handlooms and sustain the livelihoods that reflect our tradition and culture, Elementree is inaugurating its concept boutique ‘She is* - Supporting handlooms. Elementree is an experiential store that includes Handloom weaves by She Is, Jewellery by Priyaman, Plant Art a garden shop and take a bite for quick munching!
Tridandi Srimannarayana Ramanuja Chinna Jeeyar swami inaugurated the concept boutique and emphasised on the intent with which the concept is developed. He congratulated Ms Sai Priya Tucker for conceiving and realising the concept of She is and also distributed the copies of her book, a collection of her paintings and poems, from her school days. He also distributed ‘Nature & Me’ a Photo journal of Mr Aryaman Tucker and his exploration of nature around him through the camera lens.
Ms Sai Priya Tucker is a young talent from the pool of aspiring designers from National Institute of Fashion Technology, Hyderabad. The concept was rooted from the hard reality of lack of differentiation between handlooms and powerlooms, the attrition of weavers by withdrawing their skill and intel of design and the striking difference between the price of the product and the worth received by the respective weaver for the labour invested in the product.
With a firm vision to promote only handlooms by encouraging the culture and building an ecosystem that can sustain this art and the livelihood, She is, is the most weaver friendly and customer friendly store. Capacitated by the own looms and in addition to supporting weavers in 20 locations across India, She is, is the new dawn of wakening for handloom culture.
‘Handloom’ is not a mere word, it is an ecosystem, a livelihood, an art and a vision.The intricate tale of the relationship between the raw material and the creator is something that makes handloom worth a world. The six yards of fabric woven from fiber is translation of the soul of the weaver and beat of his creative heart, that just doesn’t beautify the women who drapes it but glorifies the riches of our culture and tradition.
The spectrum of design and collection is diverse, has a good collection of Kanjeevaram, Banaraj, Kantha, Jamdhani from Uppda, Srikakulam and Shanthiniketan, Maheshwari, Lucknow Chikari and Parsigara etc.
