Hyderabad, April 22, 2017 : New leadership headed by Kamini Saraf and Sandhya Raju, Chairpersons of FICCI Ladies Organization(FLO) and Young Ladies Organization(YFLO) takes over. Kamini Saraf, Sandhya Raju and their respective teams were installed in a Change of Guard Event held at Hotel Park Hyatt here in city today.
Sonali Bendre, Author, Model and Film Actress graced the function as chief guest. Prior to the installation, Padma Rajgopal, Chairperson of FICCI FLO Hyderabad Chapter and Nidhi Swarup, Chairperson of YFLO Hyderabad Chapter gave an overview of the year gone by.
Interacting with media prior to the installation, Sonali said that she is fond of book reading. More than half of her suitcase for film shootings used to be filled with books. I have learnt a lot through books. Books have been my constant companions, she said. Because of this habit, I always dreamt of owning a library. Now with e-books, kindles around, owning a library has no meaning at all, she said.
When asked about how did she get the idea of the book on parenting she replied that when she became a mother advises came from different sources. That is why I thought of penning the book because of the wisdom I have collected over a period of time. This book is on what I have lived and experience being a mother. There is no quick fix formula for parenting, Sonali Bendre added. Actor, mother and now author of “The Modern Gurukul: My Experiment with Parenting”, Sonali Bendre shared many things on raising a perfect, curious and compassionate child.
I have always had good days shootings in Hyderabad. I am fond of this place, city and people she recounted her days in Hyderabad.
My publisher wanted me to pen another book. I am just working on it. Subject line etc are yet to be finalized.
Sonali Bendre shared her three principles of parenting which she felt would balance between tradition and modernity. Personal, anecdotal and honest, she said. She highlighted the need for a return to roots to raise a healthy, curious, and a compassionate child.
Jyotsna Angara, FLO Past Chairperson highlighted the salient features of an exclusive park for FLO women entrepreneurs in Telangana. She informed that Telengana Government has already allocated 50 acres of the land for the same. K.T Rama Rao, Minister for IT, Industries and Commerce, Government of Telangana unveiled FICCI Ladies Organisation(FLO) Women Green Industrial Park recently, she informed.
TSIIC allocated FLO the 50 acres of land at Sultanpur, Patancheru in the city outskirts. FLO will develop this as a Women's Industrial Park. It is FLO's first women entrepreneur park in the country. The land allocated at a rate of Rs 45 lakh per acre, Jyotsna added. The park is expected to attract an investment of Rs 150crore and would generate employment to 2000 people she said.
The new Chairperson Kamini Saraf announced her theme “We Power” for the year 2017-18. We have lined up some impressive speakers like Indra Nooyi, Chand Kochar, Shikha Sharma, Kiran Mazumdar etc, she informed.
