After a lavish opening for his solo show in Bangalore art gallery last year he brings his new collection of Abstracts works for the first time exclusively to Hyderabad. To be inaugurated by Cine star Nagarjuna Akkineni and attended by many stars from the film and glamour industry, the event surely will be a showstopper. Bharat Thakur held a successful solo show in Bangalore which was attended by celebrities and creme de la creme like Raveena Tandon, Tanisha Mukerjee, Riya Sen and lot of art critics from across the world.
Being world renowned as a yoga Guru, Dr Bharat Thakur has taken the art world by storm after his opening art show. His art has received acclaim and plaudits from different art connoisseurs across the world and his art has been widely collected as well. The painted abstracts have a depth that is created through the process of layering; building up from black to lighter tones or spiritual whites. Bharat’s approach in constructing his painting is traditional, whereby he starts with a dark colour; not applying the dark browns as masters of the past did but rather with black.
The emphatic textural quality that marks the saliency of his works along with the gestalt articulates a quality/character of sensuousness. The sensuousness I reference is that of a strong tactile quality which makes a viewer reach out and feel the works. His new collection is an eclectic mix of abstract as well as figurative. It is a juxtaposition of marvelous texturing combined with incredible use of hands, feet, nails as Bharat Thakur never uses a brush, a trait which is not with many artists today. He does it the unconventional way which is why his art stands apart.
