Rey Muhurat

Sai Dharam Tej’s debut film ‘Rey’ was launched today (October 16th) amidst his aunts, uncles, cousins and industry's big wigs at Ramanaidu Studios in Hyderabad. The grand launching event kicked off with the formal pooja performed by Hari Krishna. Later the script was handed over to director YVS Chowdary by Pawan Kalyan and Nagababu. Chiranjeevi switched on the camera for the muhurat shot, while Akkineni Nageswara Rao tapped the clap board and K Raghavendra Rao directed the shot. ‘Rey’ will be directed by YVS Chowdary under his own banner Bommarillu.

Addressing the media YVS Chowdary said, “This is my fifth film and I’m going to make it with the blessings of all the seniors who graced this occasion. This is a complete musical film that deals with the Indian music band named ‘Rey’ from Caribbean Islands who comes to USA on a purpose. I planned a film titled ‘Seetaramula Kalyanam Choothamu Raarandi’ with Pawan Kalyan and ‘Devdaas’ with Allu Arjun but it did not materialize. Likewise I was to do a film with Chiranjeevi garu as well but failed in that attempt too. Finally I got the opportunity to make Sai Dharam Tej from their family. I’m making this film with the blessings of Chiranjeevi garu and Pawan Kalyan’s trust in me. I am going to introduce a new cinematographer named Gunasekhar through this flick. The movie will be shot half in Caribbean Islands and half in USA. The dance choreography will be done by Ganesh Swamy. We are going to start the regular shooting two weeks later and planned to release during summer vacation, 2011.”

Script writer Sashi Rajasinha informed, “We have been doing the script discussion for the past 8 months. If hero is a fire the heroine is an ice and the drama between the two is the interesting aspect of this film.”

Sai Dharam Tej said, “This is an unforgettable day in my life because all my aunts and uncles have blessed me at this venue. I’m lucky to do this film and I hope it will be a turning point of my career.”
