Mahanati - The biopic of legendary actress Savitri, has been receiving overwhelming response from audience all over. Audience, critics and celebrities are heaping praises on the director Nag Ashwin and the team. Megastar Chiranjeevi felicitated the team of ‘Mahanati’ - Nag Ashwin, Priyanka Dutt and Swapna Dutt at his residence in Jubilee Hills.
Speaking on the occasion, Chiranjeevi said, “Saviti garu is my favourite actress. It was ‘Punadi Rallu’ I first stood in front of the camera. Savitr garu played hero’s mother in the film. I played one of the hero’s friends. I consider myself lucky that I got the opportunity to work with Savitri garu for a couple of scenes in the film. I have always been a diehard fan of Savitri garu since childhood. When I told her the same, she blessed me and wished me that I will become a big star in future. It was a wonderful moment in my life. I am glad that the life story of such an actress has been made as a biopic by my producer Ashwini Dutt garu.”
Praising Nag Ashwin, Chiru said, “Nag Ashwin is a young director. His first film is excellent. I had some doubt about how perfect he can handle ‘Mahanati’. But, once I watched the film, all my doubts vanished. Tears rolled down my cheeks while watching the film. Nag Ashwin has hit the nail on its head. Hats off to the director for letting Telugu cinema grow by leaps and bounds. Our film industry needs films like this. The film showcased how beautiful was Savitri garu, how well she lived her life, her childhood, her good and bad times. Nag Ashwin has presented everything wonderfully. It is testimony to the director’s talent.”
He further added, “Keerthy Suresh has done an outstanding job. She lived the role. I felt as if I was watching Savitri garu. Dulquer Salman has acted excellently just like Gemini Ganesh gar. I did ‘Rudraveena’ with Gemini Ganesh garu. Each and every element in the film impressed me a lot. Even though their roles are small, Mohan Babu, Samantha, Vijay Deverakonda and Naga Chaitanya and all others did because the roles will stay in the heats of audience forever. It’s like a tribute to Savitri garu. Ashwini Dutt garu was always feeling incomplete because he couldn’t make award winning films like how ‘Poornodaya Creations’ made. Ashwini Dutt’s daughter have given him a beautiful gift through ‘Mahanati’. Not just rewards, the film will surely get awards in national and international level. My film ‘Jagadeka Veerudu Athiloka Sundari’ was released on May 9 and I am glad that ‘Mahanati’ was also released on the same day. Congratulation to the entire team of ‘Mahanati’.”
