The makers of Raju Weds Rambai are elated that their movie grossed Rs 7.30 Cr on the first weekend. With the notorious piracy site iBomma taken down, footfalls are going up for this content-rich movie. In this interview, distributors Bunny Vas and Vamsi Nandipati shed light on the movie's success. Raju Weds Rambai, directed by Saailu Kaampati, is fronted by Akhil Raj and Tejaswini Rao.

Producer–Distributor Bunny Vas:

More than 80% of the collections have come from Nizam. We would have usually avoided mentioning box-office figures, but this is the kind of film that deserves the talking. At this rate, I won't be surprised if our movie hits the Rs 50 Cr mark. Small films like ours have to make the most in the initial days itself.

In Telangana, our movie is going stronger on single screens compared with the run at multiplexes.

In Andhra Pradesh, collections are on the rise. While Day 1 and Day 2 were not that encouraging, on Day 3 (Sunday), the performance started surging. Vizag gave Rs 10 lakh, East Godavari gave Rs 9 lakh, Krishna gave Rs 12 lakh, and Guntur gave Rs 13 lakh. The performance in Ceded is also decent.

We started out the right way by reducing the ticket prices in single screens to Rs 99. Although distributors were not enthused about the strategy, they now see the whole point.

I would also like to congratulate ETV Win for their belief in this project. Their commitment to supporting new directors is commendable, as evidenced by their remarkable nearly 90% success rate. My professional collaboration with Vamsi has consistently yielded positive results; I propose ideas, and he executes them flawlessly. (The duo's most recent hit is Little Hearts. Once again it was in collaboration with ETV Win)

Producer–Distributor Vamsi Nandipati:

In terms of returns, I estimate that it will be four times what we have invested. Female audience members are liking our movie more. They are particularly loving the climax. (The final 20 minutes was also highlighted as the biggest highlight of Raju Weds Rambai).

We added many screens on Day 2, witnessing a robust response in Nizam. We credit ETV Win with steering the project to these heights.

We strongly believe that the ticket pricing strategy and the absence of iBomma has contributed to the numbers. This explains why the performance of Raju Weds Rambai is tremendous not just in urban areas but also in B and C centers.
