Sekhar Master has choreographed three songs in 'Sarkaru Vaari Paata', which releases on May 12. Known for hits like 'Ramuloo Ramulaa' from 'Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo' and 'Saranga Dariya' from 'Love Story', he is one of the most happening dance choreographers today. In this interview, Sekhar talks about working with Mahesh Babu, his project with Megastar Chiranjeevi, and more.

I dedicate two days each week to the small screen. The rest of the days are dedicated to the silver screen.

'Kalaavathi', 'Penny' and a mass number are the three songs I have choreographed in 'SVP'. Definitely, they are going to be a treat for fans. You will see both Mahesh Babu garu's swag and mass fever in the film.

In this day and age, a song needs to click with the audience instantly. For a dance move to become popular, it needs to be in such a way that people would want to try it across social media platforms.

As a dance choreographer, I keep pushing myself. I feel my responsibility goes up with every hit. 'Mind Block' in 'Sarileru Neekevvaru' became a rage. So, I had to better myself. 'SVP' is my second film with Mahesh garu. He is a pleasure to work with if you understand his body language and style.

The dance choreographer attunes the dance moves as per the hero's body language. If a move is unusual, your conviction can convince the hero to try it.

I have seen Sitara Ghattamaneni's recreation of 'Kalaavathi' moves. There is so much grace in her. Sitara is not present in 'SVP'. She has shot for 'Penny' only for musical promotions.

Choreography is a wider term compared to dance master. The choreographer stylizes the walking, etc. besides the dance moves. In the case of 'SVP', there were no budgetary constraints. For a song to become a hit, both the composer and the dance choreographer have to work in tandem.

Mahesh Babu garu is looking younger than ever in 'SVP'. As we have seen in the trailer, he has gone youngish.

'Top Lechipoddi' from 'Iddarammayilatho' was a song that became popular in many countries even before pan-Indian cinema began. If a dance move is catchy, it will find its audience in many parts of India/world. Cricketers like David Warner recreating our dance numbers is definitely a matter of pride. At times, I give 4-5 moves for a lyric. It depends. A song takes 3-5 days to be shot.

I am doing Chiranjeevi garu's 'Waltair Veerayya' currently. I want to work with Pawan Kalyan garu. I am also doing Ravi Teja's 'Dhamaka'.

Tarak sir doesn't go for rehearsals. He takes the plunge directly!

My son and daughter like dancing. My son wants to become a doctor, while the daughter wants to become a fashion designer.

There are a few instances where some songs didn't do well despite their entertainment value. 'Tring Tring' from 'Jai Lava Kusa' was expected to become a big hit. But its result was not up to our expectations.

I am doing films in Tamil as well. A film with Sivakarthikeyan as the hero, and another film with Simbu as the hero, are in my kitty. The flavour of dance in Kollywood is different. I have collaborated with Prabhu Deva master in the past. I consider him a legend. Choreographers like me entered the industry inspired by his talent.
