'Reddy Garintlo Rowdyism', starring Raman in the lead, is hitting the cinemas on April 8. Starring Varsha Viswanath, Pavani, Priyanka and Ankitha in other lead roles, the entertainer is directed by M Ramesh and Gopi Krishna. In this interview, actor Raman talks about the film, his character, what is special about the movie, deriving inspiration from Megastar Chiranjeevi, and more.

I hail from a village in the Kadapa district. I have always been interested to become a film actor since my SSC days. I tried my best to bag lead man roles. But only character roles came my way. 'Reddy Garintlo Rowdyism' has been produced on our own banner. I have also been into the realty sector. I got into the sector with the aim of earning money so that I can produce my movies. My second movie has also been completed. It will hit the cinemas in June this year. It has been made by a debutant director.

I will do at least 10 movies. I have no film background. I want my children and grandchildren to see me as an actor who made it in the industry. I will do movies continuously. Regardless of what happens, I will do at least 10 movies.

I have always been inspired by Chiranjeevi garu. His dances, his acting struck me when I was studying Intermediate. I used to bunk college classes to watch movies.

Coming to my character in this film, it has got three shades. From comedy to action and romance, there is everything. Factionalism is not the mainstay of the story. It's a romantic comedy love story. For the two directors, this is the second film. 'Idhi Naa Love Story' was their first movie.

A lot of incidents in this film are relatable. As an actor, I got to play a role with several variations in my very debut. That's a big deal.

Vinod Kumar garu has played the antagonist. I am fortunate to have got to work with him. He made me feel comfortable. I was initially nervous to face the camera. There are a lot of other artists. Varsha is the daughter of Vani Viswanath garu's sister. There are three other heroines.

Crying in sentimental scenes was the only challenging part. I could pull off other emotions with not much difficulty.

The title is catchy but the story has nothing to do with any caste or community. The antagonist is what Reddy garu in the title denotes. Vinod Kumar garu's name is Prathap Reddy. I am his 'alludu' in the movie. There is no political element. There are commercial elements in full measure.

Mahit Narayan, who is the brother of Chakri garu, has given fantastic tunes. We shot the movie in five states. A major part of the shoot was canned in Rayalaseema. In the Telugu States, our movie will be released on about 250-300 screens.
