'Dear Megha', starring Megha Akash, Arun Adith and Arjun Somayajula, will be released in theaters on September 3. In this interview, debutant producer Arjun Dasyan talks about his background, the romantic drama, his future plans and more.

I hail from Nirmal. I was brought up in Hyderabad. After completing MS in Aeronautical Engineering in the UK, I worked in the corporate sector for 19 years. Upon my return to India, I set up a company here.

Coming to 'Dear Megha', it's my first film as a producer. Vedansh Creative Works is the name of my banner. A film under the direction of VN Aditya will release later this year. I was in touch with him for 2 years before launching the movie with him. I learned about the nitty-gritty of filmmaking from him. Writer Satyanand garu is also my guru besides him.

I grew up watching Chiranjeevi garu's movies. His movies used to be big hits in Telangana. After migrating to the UK, my interest in movies only went up.

'Dear Megha' is a love story told from the female perspective. I can't reveal much about the story. Visually, it's beautiful. I Andrew, who has previously worked on noted films, is the cinematographer. Shot in Mumbai, Goa, Hyderabad and other locations, it also has nice music from Gowra Hari. The background music will also be instantly appealing. This is Hari's best work so far.

The emotional content of 'Dear Megha' will stand out. It's not a regular love story. The emotions and sensitivities of the female character will be highlighted in the story.

The production works were completed in six months. Even at the height of the pandemic, we shot outdoors. Luckily, nobody on our set caught the infection.

Films like 'Jathi Ratnalu' have worked really well in movies. But the same movie wasn't liked much on OTT. Some films work only in theatres. I have not sold 'Dear Megha' to any OTT keeping the reality in mind. I am not after money. If I wanted to earn, I would rather invest in real estate.

The post-production work took time because of CG works. CG studios were not functioning at optimum because a lot of their staff were infected during the second wave of the pandemic.

You will see a new Megha Akash in our movie. Arjun Somayajula, the newcomer, knows both Telugu and Tamil. Arun Adith is someone who should reach the level of a Satyadev, a Sree Vishnu. We hope 'Dear Megha' will take him to that level. He has got six films lined up.

We are in talks for a big-hero movie. Details will be divulged once things are finalized. We are also in talks with a few OTT platforms to produce digital content. I am here in India to settle in the film industry. I have listened to 30-40 stories written by newcomers. A couple of them have been shortlisted.
