Saloni means ‘Beautiful’. This Sindhi speaking beautiful heroine who impressed the Telugu audience with her Telugu traditional image in ‘Maryada Ramanna’, now once again going to appear on silver screen as a typical Telugu girl in the movie ‘Telugammayi’. This movie, directed by Raja Vannemreddy is all set to hit screens in 2nd week of August. On this occasion Saloni had a small chit-chat with the media. Here are some excerpts:

About her character in the film she said: In ‘Telugammayi’, I’m playing the character by name Balatripura Sundari who is a smart girl. The character has good scope to show my performance. I’m playing a typical Telugu girl in this film. In the entire film I wore the traditional half-saree. The story of the film is about how an innocent sweet girl turns ferocious to save her struggling family.  I was to do horse riding in a particular scene. When my horse panicked and started to run, I fell off the horse but just escaped the greatest danger.

About her working experience with the director: Director Raja Vannemreddy is a good artist too. He narrated my role in detail and also used to show me how to perform. That was how I was able to portray myself as a Telugu girl. The director used the Godavari slang for my character. Even though it was tough for me to pronounce those words I had overcome that problem. I’ve just started to learn Telugu. It may take some time but you will see me speak the language fluently.

About her train sentiment: The major part of the ‘Telugammayi’ story will progress in the train. Do you know that the train scenes in ‘Maryada Ramanna’ have attracted the audience? By the way I’ve few train scenes in ‘Bodyguard’ as well. It appears like the train journey is bringing luck to me.

About ‘Telugammayi’: The story is the main hero. The film is blend with comedy and sentiment but the second half will have lot of twists in the story. Vandemataram Srinivas provided excellent music which aptly flows along with the story. The audience will enjoy the film and will not fail to carry a message while leaving the theaters.

Difference between Maryada Ramanna and Telugammayi: There is lot of difference between ‘Maryada Ramanna’ and ‘Telugammayi’. While the story of ‘Maryada Ramanna’ revolves around Sunil’s character, ‘Telugammayi’ revolves around my character. It is about a girl who fights with her elders to win her love. I literally lived with this character till the movie was done.

About her dream role: So far I’ve done 18 films in Telugu, Tamil, Kannada and Hindi languages put together. My favourite films In Telugu which I did are ‘Oka Oorilo’, ‘Maryada Ramanna’ and in Tamil ‘Madhuraveeran’. I did a glamour role in ‘Chukkallo Chandrudu’ but failed to get good recognition. My wish is do dual role like ‘Ganga Manga’ and ‘Seeta Aur Geeta’. I like the characters in these films, one being very conservative and innocent and the other is rough and tough like a rowdy.

Favourite Stars: I’m a great fan of Soundarya because she carried herself with great ease in any role that she did. I also like Sridevi. My most favourite hero is Nagarjuna and I also admire Tarak’s dances.

Current films: Right now I’m doing ‘Mahadev Naidu’ with Balakrishna and ‘Bodyguard’ with Venkatesh. In ‘Mahadev Naidu’ I’m playing a naughty bubbly girl, and in ‘Bodyguard’, my role has very less dialogues and more expressions.  This apart, I’m also doing a Kannada film.

About Balakrishna and Venkatesh: I heard that Balakrishna garu is a very serious type of person and also maintains strictness, whereas in real he is very casual person. His memory and energy levels are simply superb. I was shocked to see his dance performance. On other hand, Venkatesh garu is a very calm person but one can learn many new things while interacting with him.
