The makers of The Girlfriend, starring Rashmika Mandanna in the lead, have officially announced the film's worldwide theatrical release date. Fans can mark their calendars for November 7, when the film will hit the big screen across five major languages: Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, and Kannada.

The release date was revealed today via a special announcement video, which contains philosophical and thoughtful messaging. The content of the film is strongly suggested to delve deep into the complexities of modern-day relationships, where new terms like situationship and dating are par for the course. Themes of compatibility and self-awareness within a partnership will be explored.

The announcement video poses questions to the audience: "As lovers, are we really the same type? How compatible are we with each other? Among all the couples that come together for various reasons, how many truly have that clarity? Do you have it? Come to theatres on November 7 – let’s talk."

"Abbayilu, ammailu, women and men… if you have ever been in a relationship… or are in one… or want to give it shot in the future… I think you will have many interesting takeaways from our film. It’s an intimate and intense relationship drama… no lectures whatsoever…. Just a personal story of two people. You make up your mind. RELEASING ON NOVEMBER 7th," wrote director Rahul Ravindran, who has written the film's story, screenplay and dialogues as well.
