A case has been filed against three more Telugu actors in connection with the ongoing crackdown on betting and gambling apps. Prabhas, Nandamuri Balakrishna and Gopichand have been accused of promoting an alleged betting app named Fun88.
So, how did they promote it? As per complainant Rama Rao Immaneni, who lost Rs 80 lakh by using the app, he was influenced by an ad promoted by the said betting app during an Unstoppable Season 2 episode. Hosted by Balakrishna, the episode had the Kalki actor and the Pakka Commercial actor as guests.
It seems the case won't stand legal scrutiny. The ad was displayed by the OTT platform that streamed the talk show. It is possible that Prabhas and Gopichand didn't utter the name of the app.
Recently, Vijay Deverakonda, Rana Daggubati, Prakash Raj, Nidhhi Agerwal, Ananya Nagalla, among others, were also named in a police complaint.
