As part of its mission to curb these harmful apps, a few content creators are being targeted.
Supritha Naidu, who is known for posting glam posts, today made an appeal to everyone to uninstall betting apps. She suggested that she did endorse a betting app out of ignorance. She said sorry for the same, and vowed not to endorse any such app in the future.
There is a view that content creators shouldn't be targeted when there is no law that criminalizes the endorsement of betting apps. Social media influencers have been promoting these apps across the country because these apps are not illegal.
