Renowned Bollywood director Rajkumar Hirani is rumoured to be considering a sequel to PK. PK 2 is yet to be written. So, it is not even in the scripting stage.
Recently, Rajkumar Hirani and Aamir Khan collaborated on a biopic of Dadasaheb Phalke, also known as the "Father of Indian Cinema".
In 2024, before the release of SRK's Dunki, Hirani confirmed that the third installment of the Munnabhai series was in the works. Speaking at an event, he revealed that he was evaluating a few scripts and Munnabhai 3 was one of them. "I am seriously wanting to write it now. It is very challenging, I am struggling but attempting to write," Hirani said. He added that Sanjay Dutt, who has played the iconic character of Munnabhai, was also eager for the film to happen. Hirani further disclosed that he had five unfinished scripts for Munnabhai 3.
Instead of taking up Munnabhai 3, Rajkumar Hirani has announced Phalke's biopic.
