Small-time actor Nihar Kapoor, the son of actress Jayasudha, has revealed that he was approached by the team of the film Baahubali for the role of the antagonist Bhallaladeva. Director SS Rajamouli had initially considered Nihar Kapoor for this key role, which was ultimately played by Rana Daggubati. Nihar underwent a few weeks of training for the role, but the filmmakers finalized Rana Daggubati for Bhallaladeva and offered Nihar the role of Kalakeya instead.
Gangster Gangaraju and Record Break are among Nihar Kapoor's movies as a villain and a hero, respectively. "I will wield the megaphone in the future. I have written scripts and I am trying for both OTT and feature films," he said in an interview last year. Had Baahubali happened to him, it would have changed the game for him. But the character might have failed to generate the intended impact. Rana Daggubati's physicality was crucial.
