All We Imagine as Light, one of the most acclaimed Indian-led crossover movies of the past one decade, is now streaming online. Written and directed by Payal Kapadia, it is available for streaming on Disney+ Hotstar.
Kani Kusruti, Divya Prabha, Chhaya Kadam and Hridhu Haroon have played major roles in the movie. Produced by investors from France, India, Netherlands, Luxembourg and Italy, its world premiere was held at the main competition of the 77th Cannes Film Festival last year. It was the first film from India to compete in the main competition since Swaham in 1994.
At the 82nd Golden Globe Awards, the film received two nominations, for Best Foreign Language Film and Best Director.
All We Imagine as Light didn't have a successful theatrical release in India. The makers and the streaming platform hope that, following the international and critical acclaim, the OTT release will find traction among Indians.
