When Pawan Kalyan lamented Ram Charan's missed opportunity

In 2009, Ram Charan had a real opportunity to score a multi-lingual hit. Had Magadheera been released in Tamil, it would have become a hit there. Furthermore, in the days when OTT was absent, it could have been dubbed and released in Hindi as well (unless Geetha Arts was looking at landing a staggering remake rights deal). But producer Allu Aravind didn't show any interest in dubbing the movie into any other language. Eventually, nobody remade it in Hindi either.

In an interview a few years ago, Pawan Kalyan said that Magadheera could have been a hit in other languages. He made this utterance after Baahubali: The Beginning created a sensation in Hindi, heralding a pan-Indian movie-making culture.

Magadheera also delayed Rajamouli's rise in other languages. His next film, Maryada Ramanna, didn't stand a chance. He used the opportunity provided by Eega to make a mark in other languages. The film received critical acclaim from the Tamil and Malayalam fraternity.
