AM Ratnam turns a year older today. His next release in theatres is Pawan Kalyan's Hari Hara Veera Mallu.
AM Ratnam has always been at the forefront of experimentation and novelty in Indian cinema. Starting from breakout movies in the 1990s (like Karthavyam, Peddarikam, Kamal Haasan's Indian) to later, Ratnam has been steadfast. Oke Okkadu and Jeans are considered trend-setters, so also Rajinikanth's Narasimha.
Pawan Kalyan's Khushi in Telugu, Vijay's Ghilli in Tamil, Shankar-directed Boys, 7G Brundavan Colony, the buddy comedy Boys were among movies that became almost iconic in the 2000s.
Hari Hara Veera Mallu with Power Star Pawan Kalyan is his next pan-Indian release. Co-starring Bobby Deol, Nidhhi Agerwal and others, it is directed by Jyothi Krishna. Speaking about the movie, Rathnam said that the period action adventure has all the ingredients to become an epic. "This one is going to raise the standards of our cinema. It will make everyone proud. Pawan Kalyan garu's role will unveil a new dimension of his craft," Rathnam says.
The film is all set to hit the screens on March 28th. HHVM has the chance of becoming one of the biggest blockbusters. Recently, a song titled Maata Vinaali from the movie was launched. The second song, also composed by MM Keeravani, will come out soon.
