The Vaimanika Shastra is a 20th-century Sanskrit text that claims to describe the construction and operation of ancient Indian flying machines called vimanas, as mentioned in ancient Sanskrit epics. The title translates to "science of aeronautics." The Glimpse of the upcoming sci-fi adventure flick, Killer, makes a reference to the scripture right at the outset. The narrator alludes to astounding truths about an "eternal energy".
As the Glimpse advances, we are introduced to the possibility of machines having a soul. That is no longer a myth, for it is fast emerging as a new reality of the material world. "She is suffering with D-Bound", the narrator says about Rai, an ordinary human being who could turn out to be an extraordinary creature.
Jyoti Poorvaj's character is packed with a sense of danger. Is she sinister? Is she more than what meets the eye? Does her mission have a mystical element? Questions remain unanswered for now. "Prepare to witness the evolution of power, the clash between science and destiny. The rise of a force Earth was never meant to face. She wasn't created. She was unleashed," the makers said about the larger-than-life character.
Written and directed by Poorvaj, Killer is produced jointly by Jyoti Poorvaj, Prajay Kamat, and Padmanabha Reddy. Jagadeesh Bommisetti is the cinematographer. Ashirvad and Suman Jeeva are the music directors. Rajkumar Gangaputra is the action director.
