Krrish 4's Bold Move to Bypass Corporate Bollywood

Big corporations like Reliance Entertainment, Eros International, and UTV Motion Pictures have corporatized Bollywood to a significant extent. They bring in substantial capital, playing a vital role in revving up production budgets and enabling grander scales. Also, corporate players brought multiplex chains (like PVR and INOX) into the mix, shifting focus from single-screen theaters to urban, middle-class audiences.

While no big film has been free from the influence of corporate players, there is an upcoming sequel that will play the game differently. As per senior Bollywood filmmaker Sanjay Gupta, the Hrithik Roshan-directed and starring sequel will have no corporate house playing any role at any stage. "KRRISH 4 is easily the biggest and most anticipated film in India. The main thing is that there will be NO corporate house involved in producing, marketing and distributing it. I sure hope this starts setting the path to film making in the future as it was in the past," he recently wrote.

The film is mentored by Rakesh Roshan and Aditya Chopra. The rumoured budget of Krrish 4 is said to be Rs 400 Cr.
