Jani Master was on Thursday arrested by the Cyberabad Special Operation Team in Bangalore. He will be transferred to Hyderabad. Despite rumors that he had fled to northern states or was hiding in Hyderabad, his arrest in Bangalore marks a positive development in the ongoing investigation into accusations of sexual harassment.
Meanwhile, the Telangana State Women's Commission has recorded the statement of the victim of sexual assault. The Commission's Chairperson, Nerella Sharada, assured the victim of their support. Jani Master faces cases under IPC sections 376, 323, and 506.
Jani Master also faces a case under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. It was discovered that the victim was a minor at the time of the alleged offenses. Till now, Jani hasn't made any statement on the allegations by the woman, who worked as an assistant under him for five years.
