Jani Master is facing sexual harassment accusations by a young female choreographer who has previously worked under him as an assistant. In her complaint, the victim reportedly alleged that Jani tried to convert her to Islam.
Following the complaint by the victim, certain media reports are highlighting the conversion angle. Since Jani Master is a Muslim by faith and the victim is a Hindu, the issue has been given a 'Love Jihad' colour by a section of the media.
Many social media accounts have also mentioned the term 'Love Jihad' prominently. A Twitter account with more than 18K followers says that the menace of 'Love Jihad' has entered Tollywood. The issue might acquire political colours soon.
Just hours after the allegations surfaced on Monday, Jana Sena Party barred Jani from party activities. On Tuesday, the elders at the Telugu Film Chamber of Commerce assured the victim of support and opportunities. Anchor and actress Jhansi said that a star hero has personally assured the victim of film opportunities as a choreographer.
