'Fighter', the action film starring Hrithik Roshan, Deepika Padukone and Anil Kapoor, is slated to hit the cinemas on January 25 (Thursday). Despite the low buzz (as is evident from less-than-expected opening-day advances), the Siddharth Anand directorial might surprise on the upside.
As per the latest BO report, the film's second-day advances are stronger than those for the first day in PVR-Inox and Cinepolis. Throwing light on the same, trade analyst Himesh Mankad says, "The gap will continue to widen as D-Day comes near. Excellent sign for the long-run prospects of the film."
As per another trade report, about 42.5K tickets have been sold for 'Fighter' at national multiplex chains by Monday morning. Dunki' was at 62K tickets three days before its theatrical release. The SRK-starrer amassed Rs 28 Cr (Nett.) on December 22 (its first day) last year. 'Dunki' was not even half a hit as 'Jawan' and 'Pathaan' but it did well for its genre. 'Fighter', too, might see a similar surge.
Karan Singh Grover, Akshay Oberoi, Sanjeeda Sheikh and Talat Aziz (as Hrithik's father) are part of the cast. With music by the Vishal–Shekhar duo, the film has cinematography by Satchith Paulose. Edited by Aarif Sheikh, 'Fighter' is produced by Viacom18 Studios and Marflix Pictures.
