Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy today stated on the floor of the Assembly that no ticket rate hikes will be permitted in the State as long as he is the CM. He said that he has taken the decision in the wake of the recent stampede incident on the premises of a single-screen theatre in Hyderabad.
"The Telugu film industry will continue to receive subsidies, incentives and other benefits. But if you expect my government to provide you the privilege of rate spikes and benefit shows after the death of a woman (referring to the demise of Revathi during a benefit show of Pushpa 2), it's not going to happen as long as I am the CM," Revanth Reddy said.
The Cinematography Minister, too, reiterated the same after the CM.
The other day, producer Dil Raju said that 'Game Changer' will have grand benefit shows in the Telugu States. After today's statement by the CM himself, the promise won't be kept.
