'Stree 2: Sarkate Ka Aatank', starring Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor (as a phantasm) in lead roles, was released in theatres yesterday (August 15). In this section, we are going to tell you what film critics are saying about the horror-comedy.
"Director Amar Kaushik made sure the narrative is engaging, entertaining and above all keeping intact his signature style of filmmaking. However, the climax was a bit stretched and could have been handled more smoothly and crisply," wrote FirstPost in its review.
In its mixed review, NDTV wrote, "Stree 2 is laugh-out-loud hilarious all right but the film gets stuck in a loop. The film goes maddeningly amiss in a scene in a mental asylum."
Indian Express had a mostly negative review. "The original film had a beguiling innocence, as well as an original streak in the way things were pictured. This one feels like a cobbling together of Bolly-Holly influences, which takes away some of that distinctiveness of the contours of both the town as well its critters," wrote its reviewer.
Regardless of what film critics have said, 'Stree 2' took sensational openings at the box-office.
Written by Niren Bhatt, the Bollywood film also features Pankaj Tripathi, Abhishek Banerjee, Aparshakti Khurana and others. 'Stree 2' will premiere on Amazon Prime after its theatrical run.
