The Telugu Film Directors Association will be holding a grand Director's Day event on May 4. The day is special because it is the birth anniversary of Late Dasari Narayana Rao. LB Stadium has been chosen as the premises. Harish Shankar said that Chiranjeevi, Mohan Babu, Prabhas, Vijay Devarakonda, Ram Pothineni, Nani, Sai Dharam Tej and others will attend the event. Director Maruthi revealed that Prabhas had decided to donate Rs 35 lakh to make TFDA stronger.
Veera Shankar, the President of TFDA, has said that the Director's Day has been envisioned to attain the level of recognition that emotionally charged days such as Mother's Day and Father's Day have. In the past, the Day was celebrated on a small scale. This time, it is going to be different.
'Baby' maker Sai Rajesh, Vice-President, informed us that a new committee has been formed for the purpose. Thousands of spectators along with family members of film celebs will be in attendance.
Veteran director Relangi Narasimha Rao said that, through the event, the greatness of TFDA will be announced to the whole world.
'Manasantha Nuvve' director VN Aditya said that every single committee that is part of the TFDA has been working for the welfare of its members. Senior director Samudra extended his congratulations to the committee members. 'Jathi Ratnalu' director Anudeep KV said that the directors are coming together with a plan to entertain the viewers of the event with various skits and dance performances.
'Bimbisara' director Vassishta said that three debut directors will be given an incentive of one lakh rupees each with the aim of encouraging new talents. Director N Shankar recalled the Guinness Book recognition that Dasari enjoys.
Star writer Vijayendra Prasad also attended the curtain-raiser event.
