Bollywood has understood the importance of event movies after the dominance of southern movies in recent years. 'Brahmastra' and the YRF Spy Universe have been given more importance in recent years because of this realization.
On Wednesday, happening Bollywood producer Karan Johar announced an epic war drama with Kartik Aaryan as the hero. The Dharma Productions supremo has joined hands with Ekta Kapoor for the untitled project to be directed by Sandeep Modi.
The director doesn't come with any experience of handling spectacle cinema. His two previous works are 'Aarya 2' and 'The Night Manager'. The Army backdrop seems to have inspired Johar and Ekta. Touted to be a big-budget war drama based on true events, the film will go on the floors six months from now.
One hopes the film lives up to the description 'epic'. Kartik Aaryan's career will see a turnaround if the film becomes a hit. Otherwise, the opposite will happen. The film will hit the cinemas on August 15, 2025.
