It was on this day (March 19) in 1952 that Mohan Babu was born. He debuted in films with 'Swargam Narakam', helmed by Late Dasari Narayana Rao, who went on to become Mohan Babu's revered mentor and guru.

Known for classics like 'Pedarayudu' and 'Yamadonga', the multi-faceted personality is also responsible for taking Sree Lakshmi Prasanna Pictures to new heights since its inception. As a co-owner of 24 Frames Factory and Manchu Entertainment, he has been trying to bring out new projects.

A recipient of the Filmfare Lifetime Achievement Award – South, Mohan Babu operates Sree Vidyanikethan Educational Institutions. As the founder of Sree Vidyanikethan Educational Trust, he has been trying to herald new reforms in the field of pedagogy.

"I never planned anything in my life. Everything has happened as and when things had to. I believe that everything is pre-determined," he said in an interview last year. The versatile actor is also writing a book based on his life and experiences. "I am going to speak only the truth in it. The tribulations I had to go through were tremendous. You would commit suicide if you go through similar struggles. Thanks to my father's influence, I have become philosophical in my outlook. Our thinking evolves mentally with time and as we age. I am not greedy and I don't have the desire to enjoy others' money," he added.

Along with some other individuals, Mohan Babu has built a Sai Baba temple near his school in Tirupathi. "It's going to be a powerful temple. Pundits from Rishikesh are involved in building it. Its budget is something like Rs 6.5 Cr," he added.
