Chiranjeevi was hurt by sensational land-grab allegation

In the early 2000s or so, a prominent English-language daily published a report claiming that Chiranjeevi had resorted to land-grabbing in Hyderabad. In his latest interview, the Megastar said that the report made him angry and despise the media house.

"When the report appeared, I was terribly upset. I got in touch with then Chief Minister wondering what was happening. I questioned myself if I had done any encroachment by mistake. I was staying in a rented house in Hyderabad. I owned the Chiranjeevi Charitable Trust building. My Jubilee Hills residence was still under construction. I got town planning officials measure the site. When they said everything was perfect, I thought I should file a defamation suit against the daily. But my lawyers told me the daily can get away somehow by citing ambiguous wordings in the report," Chiranjeevi said.

He added that he was in a state of flutter for a week when he was described as a land grabber.
