'Gadar 2', the Hindi-language period action drama film, is scorching the Indian box-office. Directed and produced by Anil Sharma, the Sunny Deol-starrer is estimated to cross Rs 200 Cr (Nett.) in the first week of its run in India.
As per trade analysts, it made Rs 40.10 Cr on Friday and Rs 43.08 Cr on Saturday. That is, the blockbuster made Rs 83.18 Cr in just two days. Sunday's collections are a rage.
Reports say that the film, co-starring Ameesha Patel and Utkarsh Sharma, is a massive rage on single screens in the Hindi belt.
When 'Gadar' was released in 2001, it clashed with Aamir Khan's magnum opus 'Lagaan'. At that time, the media praised 'Lagaan' to the skies owing to its unique concept and AR Rahman's music. But 'Gadar' was a bigger hit among the masses. About 22 years later, 'Gadar 2' is proving that nostalgia works wonders.
