The Film and Television Promotion Council of India has held a Summit to promote the exchange of talent between the Indian and Nepali film industries in Kathmandu. Co-organized by the Nepal Film Promotion Circuit, the event is titled the Indo-Nepal Cinema Exchange Summit 2023.
At a time when crossover projects have become important in globalized times, the purposive Summit was held to act as an enabler.
Yesteryear Nepali superstar actor Bhuvan KC, contemporary actor Ayushman Joshi and others took part in this event. FTPC India's President Chaitanya Janga and Secretary VS Varma Pakalapati helmed the affairs.
On the occasion, speakers representing the Nepali industry highlighted the rich cultural and natural endowments of Nepal. EVV Satyanarayana-Venkatesh-Soundary's 'Intlo Illalu Vontintlo Priyuralu' was mentioned as a major Telugu film that was prominently shot in Nepal.
On their part, the Indian speakers batted for suitable shooting locations in States like Andhra Pradesh (read Araku Valley, Konaseema), Telangana (read Charminar, Ramoji Film City), Kashmir (read rose gardens), and the famous Kanyakumari, among others.
Cultural exchange at the level of the cinema industry was promoted.
