Dil Raju addresses question about 'political funding'

It is often rumoured that films are financed by rich politicians. Dil Raju, one of the biggest producers in the country, was recently interviewed by a prominent senior journalist for a TV channel. During the interview, the ace producer was asked about the rumoured political funding.

The Sri Venkateswara Creations head made it clear that he never takes money from politicians. "My books are clean. Our accounts have always been clean. I don't derive any kick taking money from others. I depend on my circle of financiers for financing. I have refused to take funding from even Bollywood guys. I tell them I don't need anybody's money," Raju said.

Dil Raju also said that producers and distributors have had a hard time sustaining themselves in the Telugu film industry. "Only a few producers have been able to play the long game. The profit margins have come down. When a film grosses Rs 200 crore, the producer hardly gets Rs 85 crore in the best case scenario. People are not aware of such practical issues," Raju said.
