Sad! Heroes show no gratitude to them

In a recent interview, editor Marthand K Venkatesh expressed his anguish over Editors not being given importance in the film industry. A number of films are saved by Editors, who do a thankless job for meager remuneration.

"I don't attend pre-release events. It's because, after doing hundreds of movies, an Editor has to talk about his identity when security guards/bouncers don't let us enter the venue. Even a small artist who has done just one scene in the movie is given a seat in the second or third row. But an Editor is not given even that. I, therefore, decided to desist from attending events," Venkatesh, whose recent movie is 'Sarkaru Vaari Paata', said.

Venkatesh added, "If a hero mentions the Editor's work on stage even when the Editor is not present, I feel the technician has been recognized."

Films like 'Pokiri' have been fine-tuned vastly by Editors. Directors and actors should be fair to those who helm the key technical department.
