On March 11, when 'Radhe Shyam' hit the cinemas like a storm, a little-known Hindi film also arrived at the cinemas. It is 'The Kashmir Files', starring Anupam Kher and others. Directed by Vivek Agnihotri, the film is now picking pace in the Hindi belt. So much so, it is overtaking the Prabhas-Pooja Hegde romantic drama if one reputed trade analyst is to be believed.

Talking about the growing craze for the movie, trade analyst Taran Adarsh wrote that the movie is emerging as the first choice of moviegoers, trumping not just 'Radhe Shyam' in the Hindi belt but also Alia Bhatt's 'Gangubai Kathiawadi' and 'The Batman'.

The number of screens and shows for 'The Kashmir Files' has been increased even in Hyderabad. As per trade reports, morning shows starting as early as 6.30 am have been announced by cinema screens in some belts in North India. And the Sunday bookings are massive.

Director Vivek Agnihotri is glad. "Because of heavy demand now theatres have opened early morning shows and they are all house full. This shows for how long we had tolerated injustice." The injustice he is talking about is that of the ethnic cleansing of Hindus in Kashmir way back in the 1990s.
