The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has extended invitations to as many as 397 distinguished artists and executives from across the world to join the organization this year. From India, two prominent names are actor Suriya and yesteryear Bollywood star heroine Kajol.
Filmmakers Sushmit Ghosh, Rintu Thomas, and Reema Kagti are also among the invitees. Reports have said that the 'Jai Bhim' and 'Singham' actor is the first Tamil star to join the Osarcs committee.
Kajol's entry has been widely mentioned by her fans. Her proud husband Ajay Devgn tweeted, "Congratulations to Kajol for being invited on the Oscars panel. Feeling ecstatic and incredibly proud. Also congrats to all the other invitees."
