Recently, Sandalwood actor Kiccha Sudeep commented that Hindi is not a national language. He made the remarks while talking about films expanding their horizons in the era of pan-Indian cinema.

On Wednesday, in a sudden outburst, Bollywood actor Ajay Devgn questioned the argument made by the 'Eega' actor. "My brother, according to you if Hindi is not our national language then why do you release your mother tongue movies by dubbing them in Hindi?" the 'RRR' actor asked. He also added that Hindi was, is, and always will be our mother tongue and national language, ending the tweet by saying Jan Gan Man. His tweet was in Hindi.

In his reply, Sudeep wrote that he was able to understand Ajay Devgn's Hindi-language tweet. He then asked how Devgn would have felt had he typed his tweet in Kannada.

Trying to sound conciliatory, Devgn described Sudeep as a friend. "Thanks for clearing up the misunderstanding. I have always thought of the film industry as one. We respect all languages and we expect everyone to respect our language as well. Perhaps, something was lost in translation," the 'Tanhaji' star wrote.

This is a rare instance where a Bollywood actor has waded into the language controversy. One has to see how this is going to unfold in the coming days.
