Tollywood: Fresh rules mandate vaccination, priority to pending projects

The Telugu film industry has come in for fresh norms at a time when the second wave is fast subsiding. The Telugu Film Producers Council, the MAA, Film Chamber of Commerce, and the Directors Association have decided to make vaccination mandatory for any individual on a film location.

"Artists, technicians and others have to give a declaration to their respective production houses that they have received one or two doses of vaccination. Others are disqualified from working until vaccination," one of the new rules says.

It has also been decided that the stakeholders have to give a priority to pending projects, which have to be wrapped up first even if it means curtaining schedules. New projects can follow only later.

A lot of big-ticket films such as 'Radhe Shyam' and 'Acharya' are grappling with pending portions. They will wrap up their works in July. The new rules will benefit them and several other projects.
