Punjab Chief Minister Amarinder Singh on Sunday appointed Sonu Sood as the ambassador for the state's vaccination drive against covid-19. This comes in the wake of the actor acquiring a heroic status for helping out migrants, students and other distressed sections of population in the wake of the pandemic.
"I am happy that Sonu Sood has come on board for the drive. He is a humanitarian. I thank him for agreeing to popularize the importance of taking the vaccine to avert covid-19," Singh said.
Sonu Sood, who will be seen in Chiranjeevi's 'Acharya', said that he is happy to be the ambassador. "I am happy to do my bit for the fight against the virus in my State," the actor said.
