Kosuri Venugopal succumbs to COVID-19

Senior artist Kosuri Venugopal, who has done a range of roles in Telugu films, on Wednesday breathed his last due to COVID-19. He had been treated for coronavirus-related complications at a private hospital in Gacchibowli, Hyderabad.

As his health showed no improvement, the doctors couldn't help. His family members have been left in a state of shock.

Even though he did fewer films compared to several character artists of his age, Venugopal was quite a familiar face. Rajamouli famously cast him in Sunil's 'Maryada Ramanna' and Ravi Teja's 'Vikramarkudu'.

He used to work as a manager at the Food Corporation of India. Venugopal straddled both sarkari work and films simultaneously for several years. 'Ami Thumi', where he played Vennela Kishore's greedy father, was his last outing.
