Uma Preman, the humanitarian and charity worker, has been regarded as a real hero. Hailing from the family of a mill worker, she has gone on to make a mark in the field of philanthropy, making possible two lakh dialysis procedures, more than 20,000 heart surgeries, hundreds of kidney transplants, among others. In her endeavour to reach out to the marginalized, Uma Preman has also brought schooling to tribal communities as well as low-cost housing.
Her life will now be made into a biopic. Vigneswaran Vijayan is going to wield the megaphone. The multilingual biopic will drive home the message that there is no greater thing than selfless love.
"I believe Uma Preman's story will be inspirational for many. She rose from a humble background to change many lives," the filmmaker added.
Touted to be a breezy female-centric film, it will likely feature a star actress, the makers said.
