Journalists are unable to understand movies: TFPC

Recently, Puri Jagannadh commented that film reviews are ruining the film industry because low-rated movies flop at the box-office. Backing his views, the Telugu Film Producers Council has issued a statement saying that journalists should give the makers of flop movies a hug. In other words, journalists should encourage bad movies.

"Out of the 200-odd movies made in a year, 190 films flop. But it is these flops that keep the industry going and feed thousands by creating employment. Journalists who are unable to understand the movies give ratings as they like. In order to encourage flop movies, critics have to give an extra star rating. If they want to give a 2 rating, they should give three," TFPC said in a statement.

The statement highlighted that flop movies generate jobs. "They deserve all the support more than blockbuster movies," the statement added.
