Former Indian women's cricket team captain Mithali Raj's biopic is one the cards. A major studio is going to bankroll this project and as per sources, Taapsee Pannu has been confirmed to play Mithali.
Interestingly, this will be Taapsee's fourth sports based movie. Earlier the 'Pink' actress acted in hockey based movie, 'Soorma' and played one of the leads in 'Saand Ki Aankh', based on real life sharpshooters Chandro and Prakashi Tomar. She is playing a sprinter in 'Rashmi Rocket'.
Looks like Taapsee is the first choice for directors when it comes to sports based movies as she is a natural athlete. She was last seen in 'Game Over', which was a decent success.
Mithali Raj has been a key member of Indian women's cricket team for a long time and she is considered one of the greats of the team. Her contribution to Indian women's cricket has been phenomenal and her biopic will be awaited.
