After delivering back to back films, ‘Half Girlfriend’ and ‘Bank Chor’, the lead lady, Rhea Chakraborty is in Hyderabad for a Telugu film. She is in talks with big production house and looking forward to sign the project. Here is the exclusive interview of newbie Rhea Chakraborty.
Rhea Chakraborty, what are you doing in Hyderabad?
My films ‘Half Girlfriend’ and ‘Bank Chor’ were released recently and doing good business at Box Office. Right now, I am in Hyderabad, hearing couple of script and looking forward to do a Telugu film soon.
Being born in Bangalore, You never did any south film but signing back to back films in Bollywood. Why?
The information that I am from Bangalore is not true. My mom is Mangalorean and my father is a Bengali (Army Officer). I was born in Pune. Right now, I am hearing couple of script in Telugu and I am hoping for the best.
Can you tell us about the response of ‘Bank Chor’?
Well, the movie is good but collections are not good on day one. Word of mouth is giving some boost. It's a hilarious entertainer film and people who watched the film are liking it very much and those who haven't watch the film, please go and watch it.
There were reports that CBFC had objected to the title?
We all human being use bad language in our daily life. The film is titled as 'Bank Chor', now in people's head if it's sound like a bad word, it is their problem, they are thinking like that and from our end. It is 'Bank Chor' (Bank Robber).
Can you tell us about your character in ‘Bank Chor’?
I play an entertainment journalist character in the film. She is Bengali girl and her name is Gayathri Ganguly. It's a Larger-than-life character for me. Portraying a comedy character is tough and I hope I given my best.
You said that you are looking forward to do some Telugu films soon. Have you watched any Telugu films?
Yes, I recently watched ‘Manam’ film. I also watched ‘Baahbali’ but technically, ‘Baahubali’ is not a South film but an International Indian film.
Who is good in ‘Baahubali’, Prabhas or Rana?
For me, Rana is best. Because, I know Rana personally and I have affinity towards him and he always guide me what films to do and what not to do.
Who are your favourite actors in Telugu?
I like Allu Arjun, Rana and Pawan Kalyan.
Any dream roles to do?
I like Vidya Balan in ‘Kahani’, Rani Mukherjee in ‘Black’ and Anusha Shetty in ‘Baahubali’. There are many dream roles.
Usually, heroines have nothing to do with main stream story other than songs and few glamour scenes. What is your comment on this?
I disagree. Yes, there are such kind of films in which heroine got nothing to do other than songs. But, things are changing now. There are many scripts with powerful roles for women and I am looking forward to do such kind of films in Future.
Are you learning Telugu?
Yes, I am learning Telugu and soon I will speak in Telugu.
Hobbies?
I like dancing, poetry and I am also writing a script. I am also taking martial arts training. I think women are not safe in this country and for self-defence, every women should learn martial arts to protect themselves.
What are your future projects?
Right now, I am doing a Hindi film and I am hearing scripts in Telugu.
