Chiranjeevi's 'Rudraveena' was a career turning film which made him close to the family audience. Shobana played opposite Chiranjeevi. This film was directed by the legend K.Balachander while it was produced by Nagendra Babu. Music was composed by Maestro Ilayaraaja. This film was released on March 4th in 1988 and has completed 25 years.
Story penned by K.Balachander and Ganesh Patro who created sensation in that time. They molded Chiranjeevi’s role (Suryam) into a person who struggles to bring awareness in the people and how he changes his father's attitude. This film gave an in depth message and was impressed by everyone.
Even though, this film couldn't bang the box-office, it bagged a handful of awards at National level. Ilayaraaja and S.P.Balu won the Best Music Director Award and Best Male Playback Singer while Chiranjeevi won Nandi award for Best Actor (Jury) category. It was an evergreen classic to Chiranjeevi and Nagendra Babu where Ilayaraaja's spell bounded performance was a credit to the film.
