It was just confirmed that Tamannah will star in Sajid Khan’s remake of 1993 Bollywood blockbuster ‘Himmatwala’. As per the Mumbai Mirror sources, Sajid earlier considered the names of Deepika Padukone and Anushka Sharma for the role played by Sridevi in original version. However, he finally decided to go for a fresh face and thus roped in the South sensation Tamannah.
Tamannah will be taking on the role of Sridevi in the remake version of ‘Himmatwala’ while Ajay Devgan will essay Jitendra’s role. Sounds thrilling! A challenge suitable for an actress who could use this golden opportunity to start her 2nd innings in Bollywood since she began her career with a box-office failure film ‘Chand Sa Roshan Chehra’ in 2005. Later she bagged a meaty role in Sekhar Kammula’s ‘Happy Days’ in Tollywood in 2007after which she never looked back. She did several films in Telugu and Tamil and her fame grew steadily.
