It was Kareena Kapoor who had earlier made headlines by becoming the highest paid female actor with Madhur Bhandarkar’s ‘Heroine’. And now, Priyanka has gone a step ahead with 1973 blockbuster ‘Zanjeer’ starring Amitabh Bachchan and Jaya Bachchan. According to Mumbai reports, Priyanka was offered a tempting figure of Rs 8-9 crores for signing the film a couple of days ago. She would be seen in the lead role opposite Ram Charan Tej.
This remake version is taking shape under the direction of Apoorva Lakhia. Ram Charan Tej makes his Bollywood debut through this classic. While he would play Big B’s role, Priyanka will be seen as a US-returned restaurateur and Arjun Rampal will essay the role of new Sher Khan. ‘Zanjeer’ will be simultaneously be made in Hindi and Telugu languages.
RP Patnaik’s 2nd directorial venture ‘Friends Book’ featuring Nischal, Uday, Surya, Gemini Suresh, Preethi, Archana Sharma and Nisha Shetty in central roles was released today in Andhra Pradesh. Dr Malla Vijay Prasad produced this movie under Welfare Creations banner. A press meet was organised today by the unit members in Hyderabad where RP Patnaik, Nischal, Surya Teja, Archana Sharma, and Nisha Shetty spoke to the media.
