Movies in Andhra Pradesh are the best and affordable pass time for Telugu film lovers. Now Tollywood will further treat them with the story of Tollywood’s history right from the time it was given a shape to the first film ‘Bhakta Prahlada’ 80 years ago which was on September 15th, 1931. Having chanced upon this opportunity the Tollywood will not leave any stones unturned in creating this programme a very memorable one. Accordingly, there will be state-wide celebration of the event with various programmes, movies and documentary on Tollywood’s life history.
MAA (Movie Artists Association) has taken lead in organizing this programme. Murali Mohan, President of MAA announced the plans and said, “This is the birthday for the Telugu Film Industry which gave birth 80 years ago through the release of the first Telugu talkie film ‘Baktha Prahlada’ in 1931. A special flag will be designed and hoisted on all studios on this day every year. The shootings would be suspended for the day and the day will be called as Tollywood Day which will be proudly celebrated.”
