The 2010 Nandi Awards winners have been announced on Friday by the Andhra Pradesh State Government. The winners have expressed their feelings in the following manner:

Saikumar: I’m very happy that ‘Prasthanam’ has been selected as the Third Best Feature Film for 2010 Nandi awards. I was thrilled by the story narration of Deva Katta. Even though my well wishers felt that I shouldn’t be doing a father’s role so early in my career, I wanted to take this as a challenge since the role was different. The entire credit goes to my director for designing such wonderful character and choosing me for that role.

P Sunilkumar Reddy: Personal awards will always make one happy. But at the same time we feel happier when our film gets an award because it’s the hard work of the entire team. So last year my film ‘Sontha Ooru’ got Nandi as Best Film and this year ‘Gangaputrulu’ bagged the award in the 2nd best film caterory. I’m immensely happy and satisfied for what I’ve achieved. The jury recognized the fisherman’s battle for their lives in ‘Gangaputrulu’ and selected the film for the award. The credit also goes to the technicians who worked for the film because they have put in lot of efforts just by trusting me. I thank all of them and my producers Ravindra Babu and Kishore Basireddy for their support. These awards will encourage us to create more good films.

Nandini Reddy: The moment I landed in Mumbai I got a phone call saying that I won Nandi award. I’m very happy about that and I dedicate this award for the viewers of ‘Ala Modalaindi’. I never expected an award while filming it. It’s all that the audience loved the film and made it successful. All this while I was enjoying the people’s appreciations but today this movie has taken me a step forward in the form of receiving an award. This Nandi is a bonus for ‘Ala Modalaindi’. I also congratulate Nithya Menon for receiving Nandi award as best actress with ‘Ala Modalaindi’.

Chandra Siddhartha: This is going to be my 3rd Nandi. Earlier I received Nandis for ‘Aa Naluguru’ as Best Film and ‘Madhumaasam’ as best writer. I’m very happy that ‘Andari Bandhuvayya’ received Nandi award as best home-viewing film. I’m really happy to receive this award exactly at the time of being in dilemma whether or not to direct such films. Frankly speaking I never made this film for an award, I only directed this film with the intention of earning money. However I’m happy that I got an award even though I did not get any money. In this regard I take this opportunity to thank the jury.

Chakri: Finally I got what I wanted. I stepped into the film industry a decade back and was looking forward to win a Nandi award. I expected Nandi award for the films ‘Avunu Vaaliddaru Ishtapaddaru’, ‘Amma Naana O Tamil Ammayi’, ‘Chakram’ and ‘Neninthe’. At last my wish got fulfilled with ‘Simha’. I’m very happy to receive this award along with fans’ appreciate. I take this opportunity to thank Balayya Babu and my film director Boyapati Sreenu for giving this opportunity to me.

AVS: This is my 7th Nandi Award. I had good scope to exhibit mettle in the role I played in ‘Kothimooka’. Those who saw the film appreciated my performance. It’s not an easy task to get an award for such a role. Since I directed this film, I also expected an award for my direction. So that has disappointed a little. However I’m confident that I would achieve it in my next attempt.

Dharmavarapu Subrahmaniam: I’m very happy to have got the award for my performance in ‘Aalasyam Amrutham’. This is my 5th Nandi award. The awards that we receive through the government will not only encourage us but also give us strength. For that matter in any field, awards will earn us recognition and especially it works like a tonic for the artists. I wholeheartedly thank my director, producer, audience and the jury for this award.

Jhansi: I was in Karaikudi shooting for Pawan Kalyan’s film. I was very happy when I learned that I got Nandi Award. I got Nandi awards as best supporting actress for the films ‘Thodu’ and ‘Jayam Manadhera’ and as best comedian for the film ‘Tulasi’ in the past. I’m very happy for getting the Nandi once again as best supporting actress, that too in ‘Simha’. What’s more special is that I got awards for both ‘Tulasi’ and ‘Simha’ which was directed by Boyapati Sreenu. So my special thanks to him. This is my 4th Nandi award.

Nagineedu: I’m very happy to receive the Nandi award in Best Villian category for my performance in ‘Maryada Ramanna’. Every actor has got some talent in him except that the director has to bring out from the artist. Rajamouli garu recognized my talent and gave me a good role to play. Hence the credit for this award goes to him only.
