Vijay full name is Joseph Vijay Chandrasekhar and was born on 22nd June 1974 in Chennai in the state of Tamil Nadu, India. He is an Indian Film Actor, Playback Singer & Philanthropist, a highest paid performer and well-known for his Tamil Cinema career.
Personal Life:
Vijay’s Mother is Shoba Chandrasekhar ( Playback Singer ) and Father is S. A. Chandrasekhar (Director of Films). He has an elder sister Vidhya Chandrasekhar.
He married Sangeetha Sornalingam on 25th August 1999, and the couple together have a son named Jason Sanjay and a daughter named Divya Shasha. His maternal uncle is Playback Singer, S. N. Surendar. His cousins are the Tamil actor Viraj, Sanjeev and Vikranth.
Vijay completed his Virugambakkam schooling in Balolak in Chennai, and the Visual Communication course at Loyola College, Chennai.
Career:
Vijay began his career as a leading actor in 1992, in the production film of his father, Nalaya Thearpu. After several other scripts, he acted in Sadhuruapandi film with Vijayakanth. This film made Vijay popular among Tamil Nadu's inland regions.
In 1996, Vijay earned his first big movie as the Vikraman-directed movie Poove Unkaga, which helped Vijay create Tamil movies as an emerging star. He was good with the film Love Today . He starred alongside Sun Shiv Kumar in Sunrise film Nerrukku Ner in 1997.
Mani Ratnam produced this motion picture. After this, he directed Kadhalukku Mariyadhai to act in Fazil. Kadhalukku Mariyadhai was regarded as a blockbuster film and this film awarded that year's Tamil Nadu State Film Award for Best Actor to Vijay.
His next movie was Kusshi, the 2000 super-hit movie After that, movies like Prianimanwala, Friends, brought success once more. In 2003, Thirumalai broke his string of unsuccessful movies, in which Vijay is seen with a new face.
Ghilli was released in 2004 and is considered one of the biggest hits in Vijay. It was a remake of Telugu film Okkadu directed by Dharani and the film lasted in Tamil Nadu theatres for 200 days. Following Thirumalai 's release, Vijay's first failed film was Aathi, released in 2006.
He revealed the Pokkiri film later that year which was directed by Prabhu Deva and released in 2007. Pokkiri had the same performance as Ghilli, in which Vijay was offered a chance to work in a different way. This contributed to Vijay being awarded the University's honorary doctorate to M.G.R.
In 2009 began with the action film Villoo, directed by Prabhu Deva, who after Pokkiri was keen to work with him. Vijay is seen in a double role in this film for the second time in his career.
He signed into the A.R. Murugadoss in 2012, directed the action-thriller film Thuppakki. This film became the highest grossed earning film in Tamil for entry into the 100 crores club. And this was the first ever big commercial hit movie of all time in Vijay 's career too.
In 2013, he was fortunate to be working again for the movie Kaththi starring Neil Nitin Mukesh and Samantha Ruth Prabhu with action thriller movies maker ace director AR Murugadoss. This film became 2014, the highest gross earning film in terms of collections at the Tamil box office.
