MP silk federation is first time going to organize an exhibition cum sale of Natural Silk of Madhya Pradesh, Fabric woven on handloom, under the established brand namerof Prakrit, from 06th September to 08th September 2014 at Hotel Taj Deccan, Hyderabad.
The purpose behind the exhibition is to provide market links to the financially weak silk reeler / weavers working with the federation and to revive & promote traditional art and artisanship of the state with prime object of awareness & to educate about pure silk in the common people.
The authenticity of the quality of the silk is certified in two tire system by the Ministry of Textiles Government of India, one is by Textile committee with “Handloom Mark” and then by Silk Mark Organization of India with “Silk Mark” and the MP Silk Federation along with the Directorate of Sericulture of MP have a complete oversight of the silk production process from farm to showrooms/exhibition, whence quality, authenticity and fairness of the product is ensured. Prakrit provides wide range of silk sarees, Fabrics, Dupattas, stoles, Shawls, Made-ups & Furnishings.
Prakrit presents a broad range and of variety in splendid mulberry soft silk, Eri silk and matte tasar silk crowned by the nature sourced/organic colors and hand-prints of Bagh and rich designs of Maheshwari and Chanderi which are renowned all over the world.
Our silk has established benchmark in qiiality silk and meeting the international standards. The silk raw material Jrom MP has been embraced by all the silk producing states of the country and besides Madhya Pradesh it is used on large scale in the production of finished products by entrepreneurs in Orissa, Jharkhand, Bihar, Rajasthan, Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh & West Bengal.
Exclusively the National Award Winner artisans do the hand block print on silk cloth. The art & skill on display in the exhibitions celebrates the creations of traditional artisans and their sense of imagery and beauty. Such exhibitions become a medium for Silk federation to portray its product development prowess and its simple yet elegant rendition of traditional arts and crafts. It is this attention to beauty with simplicity which still keeps the unique heritage of silks alive, and combined with a deep commitment to quality and innovation; the silk people of M.P. now see a burgeoning market and truly feel that the world is their oyster.

The texture and feel of pure silk is entirely different from the faux synthetic ones and the best part remains that the materials used in printing and finishing are totally eco-friendly and colors used for dying and printing are natural/vegetable. These colors are obtained from natural sources like herbs, vegetables, bark of wood & fruit hence these colors have neither side effects to human beings nor any harm to environment.
